Phase 1: Tagged Component Locations
Five facility zones with tagged components:
- Post Office - Small RED ORNAMENT component with "#1" tag tucked behind mailbox edge
- Great Hall - Small GREEN BELL component with "#2" tag hidden in table centerpiece
- Toy Assembly - Small BLUE SNOWFLAKE component with "#3" tag attached under station sign
- Santa Tracking - Small YELLOW STAR component with "#4" tag placed inside star chart corner
- Scent Lab - Small SILVER STOCKING component with "#5" tag placed behind scent container
Component-to-Button Mapping
Players match component color to button:
- RED Ornament Component → Button 1 (RED)
- GREEN Bell Component → Button 2 (GREEN)
- BLUE Snowflake Component → Button 3 (BLUE)
- YELLOW Star Component → Button 4 (YELLOW)

5. SILVER Stocking Component (#5) → Button 5
Correct Sequence:
Button 1 → Button 2 → Button 3 → Button 4 → Button 5
Phase 2: Rapid System Check
Part 1 - 5 Button Rapid Sequence:
- Speed: 1.5 seconds per button
- Sequence: GREEN → RED → BLUE → YELLOW → SILVER
- Player presses each button AS it lights (before it goes dark)
- 5 rapid presses
Part 2 - 7 Button Rapid Sequence (Faster):
- Speed: 1 second per button
- Sequence: SILVER → GREEN → RED → BLUE → YELLOW → GREEN → RED
- Player presses AS each lights
- 7 rapid presses (some buttons repeat)
Part 3 - 10 Button Rapid Sequence (Fastest):
- Speed: 0.75 seconds per button
- Sequence: BLUE → YELLOW → GREEN → SILVER → RED → BLUE → YELLOW → GREEN → RED → SILVER
- Player presses AS each lights
- 10 rapid presses (sustained attention required)
Phase 2 Solution
Part 1 (5 presses):
2 → 1 → 3 → 4 → 5 (GREEN → RED → BLUE → YELLOW → SILVER)
Part 2 (7 presses):
5 → 2 → 1 → 3 → 4 → 2 → 1 (SILVER → GREEN → RED → BLUE → YELLOW → GREEN → RED)

How Players Solve This Challenge
Phase 1: Component Location
- Player reads challenge at Candy Cane Power Plant station
- Explores facility searching for 5 tagged components
- Finds POST OFFICE: Red Ornament component marked "#1"
- Finds GREAT HALL: Green Bell component marked "#2"
- Finds TOY ASSEMBLY: Blue Snowflake component marked "#3"
- Finds SANTA TRACKING: Yellow Star component marked "#4"
- Finds SCENT LAB: Silver Stocking component marked "#5"
- Returns to Candy Cane Power Plant
- Matches Red Ornament Component → RED button (Button 1)
- Matches Green Bell Component → GREEN button (Button 2)
- Matches Blue Snowflake Component → BLUE button (Button 3)
- Matches Yellow Star Component → YELLOW button (Button 4)
- Matches Silver Stocking Component → SILVER button (Button 5)
- Presses sequence in numbered order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Station confirms: "PHASE 1 COMPLETE!"
Phase 2: Rapid System Check

Design Notes
Why this works for Advanced Systems:
- Phase 1: Multiple facility zones (5 locations, extensive inspection required)
- Tagged components (requires careful searching, not obvious)
- All 5 buttons used (must find all components to complete)
- Simple color matching but challenging search/inspection task
- Phase 2: Reaction speed and sustained attention (rapid button pressing)
- Progressive speed increase (1.5s → 1s → 0.75s per button)
- Progressive length increase (5 → 7 → 10 presses)
- Tests reflexes + focus (different skill set than search or memory)
- Button repetition in later parts increases difficulty
- 27 total button presses - Matches Expert difficulty in length but tests different skills
Target Audience: Teens and adults, puzzle enthusiasts
Estimated Time: 12-18 minutes
- Phase 1: 10-15 minutes (facility-wide component search)
- Phase 2: 2-3 minutes (rapid reaction testing across 3 parts)
Facility Infrastructure Required:
- Post Office: Small red ornament component (can place behind/under existing fixtures)
- Great Hall: Small green bell component (in centerpiece or under table edge)
- Toy Assembly: Small blue snowflake component (under station sign)
- Santa Tracking: Small yellow star component (tucked in star chart corner or behind prop)
- Scent Lab: Small silver stocking component (behind scent container)
Component Specifications:
- All components should be small (2-4 inches)
- Clearly identifiable type (ornament, bell, snowflake, star, stocking)
- Tagged with "#1" through "#5" in visible location
- Tucked into existing decor (not completely hidden, but require looking)
- Durable for 30 shows
Key Mechanic: Multi-room scavenger hunt with well-hidden objects. The core Hard challenge is the extensive search required - all 5 objects must be found across different rooms, and they're tucked into decorations requiring careful observation.
