Detailed Station Descriptions & Build Requirements
Station 1: Reindeer Wreath Decorating
Concept: Ring toss onto a wall-mounted reindeer silhouette. Players toss mini wreaths onto dowel rod "antler points" to decorate the reindeer for Christmas Eve. Simple, familiar gameplay that works for all ages.
Build Requirements
Materials:
- Wall space for painted reindeer silhouette
- 5 dowel rods (mounted as antler points at varying heights)
- Mini wreaths (rope rings or decorated rings)
- Floor tape for throwing line
Construction Notes:
- Paint reindeer silhouette on wall (or use vinyl decal)
- Mount dowel rods at varying heights for difficulty variety
- Dowel rods double as wreath storage when not in play
- Single throwing line (no multiple distances)
Play Modes
- Solo - Decorate the Reindeer: Land a wreath on all 5 antler points!
- Solo - Streak Challenge: How many can you land in a row without a miss?
- Versus - First to 5: Take turns with a friend. First to land 5 wreaths wins!
Station 2: Snowball Toss
Concept: Bean bag toss into a 6-bucket pyramid. Classic carnival-style game with point scoring. Two sets of colored bean bags allow for competitive play.
Build Requirements
Materials:
- 6 buckets in pyramid formation:
- Front row: 3 large buckets (1 point each)
- Middle row: 2 medium buckets (2 points each)
- Back row: 1 small bucket (3 points)
- 2 sets of colored cornhole bean bags
- Ground marking for throwing line
Construction Notes:
- Weight buckets if windy (sand bags inside)
- Outdoor location - weatherproof materials
- Mark point values on or near each row
Play Modes
- Solo - Clear the Field: Land a bean bag in all 6 buckets!
- Solo - Points Challenge: How many points can you score with 6 throws?
- Versus - Points Showdown: Each player picks a color. Take turns throwing. Highest score wins!
Station 3: Toy Part Assembly Line
Concept: Two-player collaborative color sorting challenge. One player rolls colored balls down an angled table, the other catches them in a divided box with matching color compartments. Tests teamwork, speed, and coordination.
Build Requirements
Materials:
- Angled table (slight decline, balls roll at catchable speed)
- Bin of colored balls (blue, yellow, red, green - mixed)
- Divided catch box with 4 colored compartments
Construction Notes:
- Table angled for gentle roll (not too fast)
- Catch box lightweight enough to hold and maneuver
- Compartments clearly color-coded
- Ball bin at top of table for Pitcher
Play Modes
- Team Challenge: How many can you sort correctly before the balls run out?
- Switch It Up: Swap roles and try to beat your first score!
Station 4: Present Shuffle
Concept: Floor shuffleboard with wrapped present boxes. Players slide boxes along smooth concrete into delivery zone scoring areas. Requires precision and power control.
Build Requirements
Materials:
- Smooth concrete floor surface
- Floor tape to mark play area and delivery zones
- 4 delivery zones (closest to farthest), color-coded with tape:
- Local Delivery (GREEN) = 1 point
- City Route (YELLOW) = 2 points
- Cross Country (BLUE) = 3 points
- North Pole Express (RED) = 5 points
- 8 wrapped boxes (4 of each color for versus play)
Construction Notes:
- Use colored duct tape to mark zones (red, blue, yellow, green)
- Boxes should slide smoothly (flat bottoms)
- Clear zone labels visible from starting line
Play Modes
- Solo - Special Delivery: Slide all 8 presents. How many points can you score?
- Versus - Delivery Race: Each player picks a color (4 boxes each). Take turns sliding. Be careful - bumping your opponent's boxes might push them into higher zones! Count scores at the end - highest wins!
Station 5: Blind Building Challenge
Concept: Back-to-back communication challenge. One player sees blueprint instructions, the other builds without seeing them. Neither can see what the other is doing - pure verbal communication. Tests teamwork and spatial reasoning.
Build Requirements
Materials:
- Building blocks/shapes (15-20 pieces, various sizes and colors)
- Laminated blueprint cards (various difficulty levels)
- Two chairs arranged back-to-back
- Storage bin for blocks
- Card holder for blueprints
Construction Notes:
- Blueprint cards clearly illustrated with color and position
- Multiple difficulty levels (Easy: 5-6 pieces, Medium: 8-10, Hard: 12-15)
- Chairs positioned so neither player can see the other's view
- No timer required
Play Modes
- Team Challenge: Pick a difficulty and try to match the blueprint!
- Switch It Up: Swap roles and try a harder card!
